South River Aquaponics
Based in Beautiful Southwestern Colorado, outside the city of Montrose, South River Aquaponics operates a 12,040 square foot greenhouse utilizing aquaponics to produce a variety of organic greens, mushrooms, fish and crustaceans. Aquaponics is a way of combining aquaculture (raising fish in tanks) and hydroponics (growing plants in water) into one symbiotic system. Their mission is “to provide fresh & organic products while developing an awareness of the need for healthy food production systems; by utilizing current technology combined with ancient techniques we are able to achieve this goal on a minimal carbon footprint.”

Austin Family Farms
Austin Family Farm was founded in Tennessee in 1960 by Glenn and Tony Austin. They moved to Colorado in 1970 and presently own 26 acres near the foot of Mt. Lamborn in the West Elk Mt. Range of Colorado. Both have been farming for nearly 50 years and some of their children and grandchildren work next to them year-round. Glenn is a 7th-generation farmer and committed to providing safe, high quality food while maintaining responsible stewardship of the land. They are passionate about sustainable agriculture and are often asked to speak and give tours of their beautiful farm.
Zephyros Farm & Garden
Zephyros Farm and Garden was founded seventeen years ago as a small certified organic farm run by the owners. Over the years we have grown from a small half acre of production to over eight acres of production and many full-time employees. We have gone from feeding a few people to growing tens of thousands of pounds of food each year. Originally, the flowers were something we did on the side because we loved them. Following that passion has led us to being one of the largest producers of cut flowers on the western slope.
GroFresh 365
What started out as an experiment to increase agricultural production density at a local church for its benevolence ministry has become a high standard for local food production.
GroFresh co-directory Rick Kenagy established Canyon View Gardens in 2011 in an effort to multiply the church's budget earmarked for those who have fallen on hard times. The church provided approximately one-third of an acre for a garden, from which 10,000 pounds were grown and given away in the first year's harvest. The second year, 15,000 pounds of food were harvested and given away, from an approximate half-acre area.

Anne Lefevre, Indian Ridge
We’re a small, diversified family farm operation. The proprietors, Tony and Barclay live in a very energy-efficient straw bale home constructed in 2001.
The farm’s ditch system and fencing was completed many decades ago. The Daranyis began building the farm’s more current infrastructure: the ponds, the deer fencing, the water system, the processing plant, the barn and the hoop-house in 2000. Indian Ridge Farm & Bakery began production in 2002. The garden for the CSA was expanded in 2007 to nourish over 60 households. The pastured poultry operation received a grant from the Western Region’s SARE program to study whether pastured poultry can complement an existing large livestock system. That grant was the springboard for the success of the current pastured poultry operation.

White Mountain Farm (Just Quinoa
White Mountain Farm is located in an ancient lake bed called the San Luis Valley. It lies between the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Southern Colorado Rocky Mountains, at an elevation of about 7600 feet.
The farm has been in the family since the 1930's. In the late 1970's and early 1980's, the main crops were organically grown wheat, alfalfa, and sheep. In 1984 we started experimenting with Quinoa and in 1987, White Mountain Farm was incorporated, named after Mount Blanca, and started growing certified organically grown Quinoa and potatoes. Since then we have added rye and a variety of vegetables to our rotation. In 1987, White Mountain Farm was the first large-scale Quinoa operation in North America. Over the past years we have been selecting the best tasting Quinoa and potatoes to offer our customers. Our goal is to offer good tasting, high quality Quinoa and potatoes at reasonable prices.
